NYS Assembly CLCPA Implementation Hearing testimony by U.S. Light Energy

U.S. Light Energy’s President and CEO, Mark Richardson, shares his testimony and comments regarding the implementation of New York’s Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act (CLCPA).

This video contains excerpts from the New York State Assembly’s public hearing on May 13, 2021, which was conducted by the Assembly Climate Change Working Group, and the Assembly Standing Committees on Environmental Conservation, and Energy.

Chapter 106 of the Laws of 2019 established the Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act (CLCPA), historic legislation that enacted sweeping requirements and goals to address climate change. The purpose of this hearing was to examine the implementation of the CLCPA, including the steps being taken by the Climate Action Council to develop the scoping plan, the Climate Justice Working Group’s development of disadvantaged community definitions, and the progress of the State in achieving renewable energy goals.
